You Don't Have to See Yourself as Beautiful to Have Beautiful Photographs
From dresses to trackies, high heels to hiking boots, we're all wonderfully different.
Some women love getting dressed up. Others are happiest in jeans and sneakers. Some are confident in front of a camera, while others would rather be anywhere else!
And that's perfectly okay.
There's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all woman. We come in all shapes, sizes, ages and personalities. And thank goodness for that!
But here's something I've noticed over the years of photographing women.
Very few of us are completely happy with what we see in the mirror.
There's always something, isn't there?
The tummy we'd like to hide, the wrinkles we'd rather not have, or those few extra kilos we keep promising ourselves we'll lose.
And that's often why having our photograph taken feels so personal. Sometimes even a little frightening.
I understand that. I really do.
But here's what I wish more women knew.
You don't have to love everything about yourself to have photographs you absolutely love.
Beautiful photographs aren't reserved for movie stars, supermodels or women who have it all together.
They're for ordinary, everyday women. Women with stories, experiences, laughter lines and a lifetime of being themselves.
Women just like you.
And that's where my little bit of magic comes in. Or, as I like to call it, my secret sauce!
I'm not just going to stand you in front of a camera and tell you to smile.
I'll chat away to you, probably talk far too much, make you laugh, and yes, I'll even demonstrate the poses myself if that's what it takes!
I'll guide you through everything, from where to put your hands (because apparently hands become very complicated when there's a camera around!) to finding the light and angles that flatter you.
You don't need to know how to pose. That's my job.
Your job is simply to turn up and let me take care of the rest.
That's one of the reasons I created ‘The Woman You've Become ‘portrait sessions.
They're not about trying to turn you into someone else, or making you look younger. They're about celebrating the woman you are right now.
The woman who's lived, loved, laughed, faced challenges, and has a few stories to tell.
And perhaps, somewhere along the way, forgotten that she deserves to be in front of the camera too.
To help you feel comfortable, confident and perhaps see yourself in a way you haven't for a very long time.
Because sometimes it takes someone else to show us what we've been overlooking.
I photograph women, and I would love you to be one of them.
If you've been thinking about having some beautiful photographs taken, but keep finding reasons to put it off, perhaps it's time we had a chat.
You don't need a special occasion. You don't need to change a thing about yourself.
You just need to come as the woman you've become.
No pressure, no expectations. Just a conversation about what you'd love.
