Veils, Jerseys & Tacos: A Bridal Boudoir Story

At long last, I can share these gorgeous images from Kimberley’s Bridal Boudoir Session.
And honestly… you can’t imagine how hard it is to keep something this good under wraps until after the album has been gifted.

Bridal boudoir is always a little different to other sessions.
There’s an extra layer of excitement, secrecy, and that beautiful in-between energy — not quite bride on the wedding day, not quite the woman she was before it all began. Just this moment, suspended in time.

Kimberley’s session was full of meaning, laughter, and the kind of personal touches I absolutely love weaving into these shoots.

We started with something close to her heart — the rugby jerseys from both Australia and New Zealand.
A quiet nod to where she’s from, ( Australia) where she is now, and the shared life she and her partner are building together. It was such a simple detail, but one that carried so much story.

Then there was the infamous taco shirt.
A little inside joke between them, and a tribute to Kimberley’s serious love of tacos — which added just the right amount of fun and cheekiness to the session. Because bridal boudoir doesn’t always have to be all lace and sultry gazes… sometimes it’s about capturing her, exactly as she is.

And of course, the bridal veil she’ll wear on the day.
Soft, romantic, and quietly powerful. There’s something incredibly special about photographing a bride in her veil before the wedding — like a whisper of what’s to come, without giving too much away.

What I loved most about Kimberley’s session was how effortlessly it blended confidence and playfulness, softness and strength.
She showed up as herself — relaxed, radiant, and completely at home in her own skin — and that is always when the magic happens.

Bridal boudoir is often gifted as something for a partner…
But what I see, time and time again, is that it becomes just as much a gift to the woman standing in front of my camera.

A pause in the busyness.
A chance to reconnect with herself.
A reminder of who she is, right now, on the edge of something new.

Kimberley, thank you for trusting me with such a beautiful part of your story. It was an absolute honour to photograph you.

If you’re a bride-to-be and have ever thought about doing something just for you before the wedding… this might be your sign.
