How Will You Celebrate Your Milestone Birthday?

A milestone birthday has a funny way of making you stop and think.

We celebrate them with dinners, parties, weekends away and maybe a glass or two of something bubbly.

But what about doing something just for you?

And no, I'm not talking about bungee jumping or throwing yourself out of an aeroplane.

I'm talking about celebrating the woman you've become.

A photography session can be a wonderful way to mark a milestone birthday — not because you need a reason to have beautiful photographs of yourself, but because sometimes it's nice to stop and acknowledge just how far you've come.

Your session doesn't have to be glamorous or over the top. It can be elegant and feminine, relaxed and natural, a little bit flirty, or simply very you.

You could make a day of it with professional hair and makeup and enjoy having the attention on you for once.

Or bring your best friends along.

Imagine celebrating not only your birthday, but 20, 30 or 40 years of friendship. The laughter, the stories, the terrible fashion choices you've survived together — all of it deserves to be remembered.

You could even celebrate with your daughter, your sister, your mum or the other important women in your life.

Because here's the thing…

We photograph everybody else's milestones.

Our children's birthdays. Graduations. Engagements. Weddings. New babies.

But somewhere along the way, we can forget that our milestones matter too.

One day you'll look back at these photographs and remember exactly who you were at this point in your life.

Not who you used to be.

Not who you thought you should be.

But the woman you have become.

And I think that's something worth celebrating.
