Three Years, One Brave Yes, and the Photos That Changed Everything...

Kylie and I had been dancing around this session for nearly three years.

Emails. Messages. “One day.”
“I just want to lose a bit more weight first.”
Life. Nerves. Timing.

And then one day, she booked.

When Kylie arrived, she was honest — nervous, unsure, carrying the same doubts so many women do. The kind that whisper maybe later, maybe smaller, maybe not yet.

What unfolded instead was something entirely different.

Between gentle guidance, plenty of laughs, and space to breathe, Kylie began to soften into the experience. Not performing. Not pretending. Just being present in her body — exactly as it is right now.

When she saw her images for the first time, this is what she shared:

“I am happy in my skin.
Despite having regained about half of the weight I had lost… I am happy in my own body.
I put this off for such a long time trying to be just a little bit smaller. How silly.”

That sentence right there?
That’s the moment everything shifts.

Because our bodies are not a “before” state.
They are not a project waiting to be finished.

As Kylie so perfectly said — we move through seasons.
Hormones change. Life changes. Strength changes. Softness changes.

And every one of those seasons deserves to be honoured.

“We as women go through seasons and should celebrate ourselves through each of them. Perimenopause be damned!”

These images aren’t about weight, age, or confidence levels.
They’re about presence. Acceptance. And choosing to stop waiting.

Kylie has already decided there will be more shoots in the future — not because she needs to change, but because she’s ready to keep celebrating herself exactly as she is.

And honestly? That’s the whole point.
