When I first imagined “The Woman You’ve Become,” I knew it would take a special kind of woman to go first—to trust me with not just her image, but the spirit of what this project stands for. Emily was that woman.

She is courageous. Beautiful. And an extraordinary creative talent whose paintings hold as much depth as her own story. She’s in the process of rebuilding a life for herself—stepping into a new chapter with grace and determination.

To me, she is like a butterfly that’s been in her cocoon for far too long, now stretching her wings and discovering the power they hold.

Photographing Emily was more than just a session. It was a reminder of why I started this series: to honour the resilience, beauty, and individuality of women who are ready to be seen, celebrated, and truly valued for the women they’ve become.

Emily’s story is hers to tell. But her courage to take that first step is a gift—to herself, and to every woman who will follow.
